The FiberLocker® System (by ZuriMED) is a recently FDA-cleared (510(k)) surgical technology designed to strengthen rotator cuff repairs by integrating a specialized textile patch directly into tendon tissue.
Key Components
SpeedPatch®
A 30 mm × 25 mm non-woven patch made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) fibers.
FiberLocker® Instrument
A single-use implantation tool that “felts” the patch fibers into the tendon within 90 seconds.
How It Works
- 1 A patented “felting” technique, similar to a surgical sewing machine, drives fibers from the patch deep into tendon tissue — creating a strong, interwoven interface of 10,000 points of fixation that reinforces the repaired tendon.
- 2 Standard suture anchors attach the tendon to the bone as usual, followed by patch placement to augment the repair.
